We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue for our Amalfi micro wedding. From the amazing breakfast to the helpful staff - this place is a dream. They went above and beyond leaving congratulatory treats in the room and delivered steamers, champagne etc. rapidly when we called room service. They easily accommodated all vendors. The beach club was top notch. It was also a plus we were able to quickly get downtown when needed via the shuttle. Highly recommend this hotel.
What a truly stunning hotel! Built into the side of the Cliff it truly doesn’t get any better than this. The hotel is elegant and amazing views everywhere you turn! I wish we had more time here! The staff was very friendly and helped us set up scooters, dinners, and later check out and ferry shuttles. Truly a beautiful hotel!
We went here for dinner and had a great meal at the Hotel restaurant overlooking the bay.
We had called and Pietro arranged all this.
We loved the property and decided to spend the day at the Beach Club the next day and Pietro arranged it all for us.
He was always very helpful and kind to arrange our requirements.
It seemed that everything worked well thanks to Pietro and we saw him all the time, late night and early morning. Hard worker and amazing asset for the guests.
The hotel is a must for location and service and spectacular views.
We did not stay here so cant say anything about the rooms.
This is a late review as we were there in the first week of September 2023.
Santa Caterina hotel is a wonderful place to stay, the views and scenery are unmatched.
Prices are high and the service can be better.
I wanted to point out one person that made our stay better is young man named Pier, working at the central bar and Gottin Bar, he was always available, respectful and very educated, he deserves 5 stars, but could not say the same for his colleagues.
We hope to be back next year.
We had the best time here - the hotel is built into the cliff side and from every vantage point, you have an extraordinary panoramic view. We stayed for 4 days and wished we could have stayed longer - it’s a unique and luxurious spot that is worth the winding drive in!
Highlights:
The beach club! Access to the water is solely reserved for hotel guests, complete with changing areas, beach bar, pool and food menu. There is a designated safe swimming area and lots of floaties!
The service is amazing - they really go above and beyond. When we checked in, they immediately upgraded us to a two story suite, “The Tower”, which was a stunning room with entrance onto the gardens.
The location is extraordinary and walkable into the town of Amalfi where you can take a ferry to almost all local attractions.
Separately, the Michelin Star restaurant, Glicine, is located within the hotel. We had one of our meals here during our stay and it was delicious. Be prepared for the full Michelin experience, prices included (look at my photo of the water menu…)! I wasn’t expecting to leave as full as we did! Had plenty to eat and drink, which can’t be said for all high end restaurants.
I am currently staying at this hotel and I have to urgently commend the wonderful staff and how fantastic this place is!
I had not heard anything about this place so I was playing pot luck.
The staff bend over backwards but it’s genuine, they have personality and warmth. They anticipate your needs. Wonderful.
The service of every staff member (concierge, the Cleaners’s, the pool boys, the breakfast staff, the waiters.
The views amazing. The access to the ocean super.
Love it!
Unfortunately the restaurant Al mare didn’t meet our expectations. We spent all in all 14 days on the Amalfi coast and this was the first restaurant that really disappointed us way: the food was not well prepared (vegetables were so deep fried I couldn’t tell its vegetables), everything way overpriced with more than 100 Euro per person just for a shared appetizer, main course and one drink. The staff was overly motivated to pour our glasses full, ask every three minutes if want more and even comment on how fast we finished our dishes, suggesting we should order more.
One detail that shocked me: the menu is gender conform, meaning the female person gets a menu without prices and the male one with… so much for equal rights.
If you want to spend a small fortune on mediocre food, please visit. We for sure would not.
STOP! Not worth the money. Nothing about this hotel justifies the price tag, service other than Simone, was awful, laundry ruined my shoes, everything else is lack luster and the room is so so for the money. I have stayed in majority of the finest hotels world wide, don’t waste your money here.
